The Discovery Flight - $149

Myrtle Beach Flying Club

Our Discovery Flight is the perfect introduction to the world of aviation. You'll receive a brief ground school lesson from your expert instructor and then hop aboard a Cessna Skyhawk single-engine airplane for an exciting 40-minute flight! Your instructor will handle all the details such as communicating with Air Traffic Control, taxiing to the runway, take-off, and climbing to altitude. Once safely aloft, your instructor will allow YOU to control the airplane. You'll make gentle turns, maintain altitude, and hold speed & heading all on your own! Don't worry, your instructor is always ready to take over if the need arises.

You’ll never be the same after the first time you take the controls and feel what it’s truly like to fly. Leonardo Da Vinci said "Once you have tasted flight, you will forever walk with your eyes turned skyward, for there you have been, and there you will always long to return." We couldn't agree more!

Discovery Flights make great gifts too! Your friends and family are tired of the same old presents every year - change things up with the gift of flight! Discovery Flights are perfect for Christmas, anniversaries, birthdays, or any other special occasion.

For just $149 you'll get approximately 30 minutes of ground school with your instructor and learn what to expect once you're airborne. You'll also get an amazing 40 minutes to spend soaring through the skies and experience the thrills of flight! The best part? You can bring a friend! Add an extra passenger at no extra cost (weight limit requirements, call for more information if you're bringing a passenger).

Boeing says 30k new pilots needed every year to keep up with travel demand! “The growing middle class in emerging economies like India, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia means that people are spending more money on travel and tourism,” says Sherry Carbary, Boeing Flight Services vice president. “So there is more demand for airplanes and for people to fly them around the world.”
